Art + Math Integration
Artists are teaming up with mathematicians to make learning even more fun. Here are some of the art lessons we are doing to learn math and get our hands dirty.
Leonardo learns circumference by making a coil pot.
Visual proof that the human face is not symmetrical. Yikes!

La Política y Nuestras Voces
Club de Arte got together over the summer and talked politics. We visited the state capitol, had a mock debate, designed political posters and wrote essays around our hopes and dreams. With the 2008 Presidential Election and the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, we decided to participate in the political process by making a mural for MCAD's "Position, Imposition" show. The members of the Club de Arte wanted to share their opinions about current policy with people who could vote. The show opens Sept. 5th, 2008 from 6-8pm and closes on Sept. 24th. Come and hear what we have to say!

Dedicamos el mural
Last week, the Center for Neurobehavioral Development at the University of Minnesota had a party to dedicate the mural that Club de Arte painted there. We signed the wall, saw some of the experiments and equipment they use and ate a pizza dinner complete with Dance Dance Revolution entertainment.
The CNBD will give Club de Arte $1,400 for our work which we will use for a field trip this spring. Hawaii, anyone?
